Flower Power!

Floral Fashion Finds

You all know I love a good flower.  Whether it's in my garden, on my clothes, or on my ears (always), I'm a big fan.  I've whipped together some of my favorite floral dresses, floral bags, floral shoes, and floral accessories for late summer and into fall and beyond!  (This shirt would be great at holiday parties).  On a side note, the Anniversary Sale opens to the public today.  If you want to make your life easier and shop my short lists (organized by category), click here.

Click through the slides below to see some of my favorite floral finds! (Some of them are on sale for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale).

1.  I've had my eye on this Topshop Straw Bag for pretty much the entire summer.  It looks like something you'd bring back from a luxurious vacation in Capri.  If this is too small for you, I also really like this blue embroidered one from Draper James (love me some Reese Witherspoon)

2.  These gold vine earrings were just restocked!  I'm a huge fan of the embellished baroque pearl on these and get tons of compliments whenever I wear them.

3.  This dress is another one that's been in my shopping cart for a while and I might have to buy it now that it's 40% off (because J.Crew is eternally on sale... something I really don't understand).

4.  I'm not really into skinny jeans anymore (my calves have been compressed by them for well over a decade).  I really like that you could wear these wide leg pants now with a pair of sandals, straw bag and an upscale t-shirt and later with some booties, killer sunglasses and an ivory sweater (currently sold out but this is a good one too).  They're a great transition piece!

5.  How is this flower bag under $10?  Definitely worth buying to use on days when it might rain... It's now sold out but here's a $35 version

6.  I originally designed this pair as bridesmaid earrings but decided (with the bride's permission) to sell them on my site too.  They're a great statement pair that goes with everything!

7.  I have this dress and was amazed by the quality for under $30.  The fabric doesn't feel polyester-y, which is often the case with Amazon dresses and it runs fairly true to size (size up if you're bigger in the chest, I'm a 34B and size 6 and this was a tad snug).  I wore it to dinner last night after a long day when I didn't feel like dressing up and it made me look far more put together than I felt.  It's so easy to throw this on, put your hair in a knot, grab a pair of big earrings, and head out the door.

8.  I bought this tiered floral skirt from Amazon the same day I bought the #7 dress.  I wore it to a wedding and got tons of compliments.  It's under $30 and definitely doesn't look it.  A few things I didn't like: under the tiers is a layer of white fabric so when you twirl, you can see the white.  Not a huge deal but not ideal when there's a blacklight and you're wearing neon underwear... The one other thing that I found strange was that there was no label tag in the skirt.  And because it has an elastic pull-on waist, that made it impossible to know if I was wearing the skirt backwards or forwards.

9.  This embroidered sweater looks like something my grandmother would have worn in the 60s and I really like everything about it.  It's also cashmere which you can never go wrong with... I'd keep it fresh with some straight leg jeans (I've heard great things about this brand) and a fun flat.

10.  The Marigold Earrings are such a fantastic pair of earrings.  Beaded pearl teardrops, block print inspired tops, what more could you want? They're light and go with everything.  These are the earrings I threw on with the pink dress (#7) after a long day at work when I had about 5 minutes to change.  Like me, you'll reach for them again and again

11.  Supergas are my jam.  I've tried Converse, Bensimon, and Keds but once I finally found Supergas, I was hooked.  I already own three pairs so it's sort of hard to justify buying this floral pair but if I see them go on sale, I might have to jump on them.

12.  Last but not least is this something we all need-- a phone case.  I have a less expensive knock off of this case and have cracked the bottom corner of my phone with it.  I should have spent the extra $10 and bought the better case.  This one will help you smile in the middle of winter.
