I head to Saratoga Springs, NY early next week and couldn't be more excited. It's one of my favorite places in the world and early August around the horse sales is such a fun time to be there! I'll have a packed social calendar so it's crucial to pack wisely (especially because I go straight from there to my best friend's wedding in Maine!).
I have to pack light but also have enough outfits to get me through a week of racing, cocktail parties, work, sale nights, and still have basics I can wear when I'm just hanging out on friends' porches. It's not an easy feat but I think I'm starting to master it.
I've found some amazing deals on shoes on Zappos this week. They're having a 20% off sale right now with code BDAY20. I'm a big fan of these classic cap toe Tory Burch heels (especially because the logo is hardly there). And these Cole Haan flats from Nordstrom look like Aquazzura but are probably much more comfortable.
I wear a dress almost every day when I'm in Saratoga. A white shirt dress is a great staple because you can wear it to breakfast with grandparents, to work, and you'll still look good if you pop over to the races. I'd style it with gold bangles, walkable heels, and a classic clutch (this is a splurge but won't go out of style).
There will be days though where you may have stayed out dancing too late the night before. You need to look put together but really don't feel like it. On those days, I reach for either a tried and true DVF wrap dress (I've been wearing them for years and they really are always in style) or a nice silk shift. I know they look good no matter how bloated I might feel.
It also gets cold at night so this cashmere poncho is great. You can wear this style a ton of different ways too which makes it so practical (I have two of these and wear them constantly, they're great for travel).
See more things I'm packing (or similar styles) below and let me know what you'll be wearing!
